A possible plot description for Star Wars Episode VII has been revealed. Is it the real one? Potential but unlikely spoilers follow.
According to Schmoes Know (via SlashFilm), plot descriptions for the two main characters in Star Wars Episode VII have been revealed. Are these real? There’s a chance, but evidence points to it being false. Schmoes Know apparently “intercepted” these descriptions, so obviously nothing’s official and it could very well be made up.
Storyline: Two 17 year old twins, a girl and a boy, are trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy. Problems arise when the male twin turns to the dark side.
Jaina Solo – Female, 17 years old, lead. – Jacen’s twin sister, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy, trained by her uncle Luke Skywalker
Jacen Solo – Male, 17 years old, lead – Jaina’s twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what’s right and what’s wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the “right thing”. Will eventually become Darth Caedus.
As Star Wars Episode VII is supposed to be a sequel to Episode VI, it’s very likely that the story will center around at least one of either Han and Leia (assuming Abrams doesn’t commit fan treachery and have them not married) or Luke’s kids. As all are likely to at least have cameos in the film, it makes sense to have the story be about their kids.
Where this rumor begins to fall apart is that these character descriptions so closely mirror those from the Expanded Universe novels. It wouldn’t take a ton of thought to come up with that idea. Star Wars Episode VII producer Lawrence Kasdan has even said that the film won’t pull from any of the novels. Of course, that’s only one producer’s opinion and J.J. Abrams could decide that they would. They’ll want to keep the plot secret, so it’d be a big surprise for them to closely adapt something. Expect Episode VII to be something original.
