Keri Russell will reportedly join Star Wars: Episode IX in an as-yet-unknown role.

According to Variety, The Americans star was selected from a potential pool of several actresses. This being Star Wars, most details about Russell’s role are still unknown, but apparently the part calls for “action-heavy fight scenes.”

Jedi? Sith? Badass blaster-weilding bounty hunter? We’ll have to wait and see.

If confirmed, Star Wars: Episode IX will be one of several collaborations between Keri Russell and J.J. Abrams, who is writing and directing the final film in the sequel trilogy. (Abrams took over those duties from Colin Trevarow last year.) Russell starred in Abrams’ popular series Felicity and has worked with him on several Mission: Impossible films as well.

Naturally, Star Wars fandom has already begun speculating on what Russell’s role may be in the new film. Many wonder if Russell might play Rey’s mother, though Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi tried to put a period on theories about Rey’s parentage.

Variety also ventures that other important new roles have yet to be cast in Star Wars: Episode IX, which will follow the dissolution of the Resistance and Kylo Ren’s ascension to Supreme Leader of the First Order. Hopefully more diverse faces will join the story going forward.

Production on Star Wars: Episode IX is set to begin at the end of the month. Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac will all reprise their roles to close out the newest Star Wars trilogy.
