As The Force Awakens draws near, the existing Star Wars hexad is to be made available as hi-def digital downloads.

Lucasfilm is prepping the six existing Star Wars films, from A New Hope through Revenge of the Sith (or, er, Phantom Menace through Return of the Jedi), for HD digital release.

Believe it or not, this is the first time the two trilogies have been made (legally) available in this format.

The six movies will be available for online purchase and download starting April 10, with retailers including iTunes, Google Play, VUDU, Amazon, Xbox Video, Playstation Store, and Verizon Fios.

Owning the Star Wars saga in digital HD format is obviously a selling point in itself, but each movie will also come with a couple of never-before-seen bonus features sure to entice hardcore Star Wars fans.

For each movie, there’ll be an installment of the “Conversations” Q&A series, in which artists who worked on the series get to showcase their craft. There are also “lost interviews” with stars Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, and specials focusing on the visual effects and production design.

You can also look forward to deleted scenes, “Discoveries From Inside” documentaries, and bloopers. That’s right, bloopers!

The Force Awakens hits cinemas on December 18, 2015.
