Evidence continues to mount up for the oft-rumored third entry in the critically and commercially acclaimed Star Wars: Battlefront series. This time, the game is supposedly being developed by Spark Unlimited, the studio most famous for Call of Duty: Finest Hour.

A recent job listing at the studio calls for a “senior combat designer for a 3rd Person Action/Adventure sequel in a high-profile science fiction franchise currently greenlit for full production development for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC markets,” notes PlayStation Lifestyle.

The site also spotted two LinkedIn profiles mentioning time spent on an “unannounced third person sword fighting game (well known IP, Xbox 360, PS3)” and a “AAA third person shooter using Unreal Engine and Kynapse AI middleware,” which could be alluding to the lightsaber and blaster combat the series is known for.

All of this evidence comes after the studio tweeted reference to the Star Wars franchise back in December: “Publisher hasn’t stated when or where the announcement will take place. The time and place could be close or far, far away.”

The game has been rumored to be in development at Free Radical, Rebellion, Slant Six Games and all out cancelled in the past.

Supposed leaked footage of the game was also released in early 2009.

Star Wars: Battlefront II released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC.

Despite the many let downs from past rumors, I personally hope this time all of the speculation turns out a game.
