Star Trek: Picard at Paramount+ has added Annie Wersching to its cast.

According to Deadline, Vampire Diaries vet Annie Wersching has officially joined the cast of Star Trek: Picard season 2.

The Paramount+ original series finds Sir Patrick Stewart reprising his role as the titular captain, and explores the next chapter of his life.

For her part, Wersching is set to take on the role of The Borg Queen.

For the uninitiated, The Borg Queen is one of Jean-Luc Picard’s main enemies. First introduced as part of the 1996 Star Trek film, First Contact, the character is the leader of the Borgs— an alien group who are known for co-opting the technology and knowledge of other aliens before transforming their victims into drones.

Star Trek: Picard season 2 is slated to debut via Paramount+ sometime next year in 2022.
