On the heels of a brand new Star Trek Into Darkness international trailer, an international poster has been released.

Perhaps taking advantage of the fact that people in Europe are well aware of Benedict Cumberbatch thanks to the British actor’s Sherlock role, his Star Trek character takes center stage in this new poster. Returning cast members Zoe Saldana (Nyota Uhura), Chris Pine (James T. Kirk), and Zachary Quinto (Spock) also feature:

Cumberbatch’s character in the film is still not officially confirmed. Rumors believe he will take on the role of Khan, but the actor has said in interviews he plays someone named John Harrison. He’s “a terrorist and an extraordinary character in his own right. He’s somebody who is not your two-dimensional cookie cutter villain,” he said in December. “He’s got an extraordinary purpose, and I hope that at one point or other in the film you might even sympathize with the reasons he’s doing what he’s doing — not necessarily the means and the destruction he causes. But it was a great ride, not just because he’s the bad guy and the antagonist but also because he has a purpose and it’s hard not to see his point of view at certain points.” Is he telling the truth? Or is this just a way to surprise everyone this May?

Star Trek Into Darkness opens May 8 internationally and May 17 in the United States.
