Star Trek: Discovery will return for a second season on CBS All Access.
Ahead of the mid-season finale, Star Trek: Discovery receives confirmation that it will return for a second season on CBS All Access. The streaming site, which many have complained about, appears to be generating enough engagement to justify continuing its mission with the crew of the Discovery.
The first season, split into two parts, will conclude its first half next Sunday, November 7. The series will go on hiatus until January 2018. There is no word on how many episodes the second season will contain.
According the press release by the network, “CBS All Access broke a new record for subscriber sign-ups in a single day, week and month for the service.” Following suit with sites such as Hulu and Netflix, no official numbers are available for the streaming service.

Hopefully the success of Star Trek will drive the creative team to add more original and exclusive programming to the platform.
New episodes of Discovery are available Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS All Access.
