Star Trek: Discovery premieres on CBS this September before it moves exclusively to CBS All Access. Find out how and where to watch!

Mark your calendars! Star Trek: Discovery will air on Sunday, September 24 on CBS. In classic Sunday night fashion, the press announcement adds that the NFL football season may effect the airing time on the East Coast. Be sure to check your DVRs.

Of course, none of that matters if you plan to watch the series on its intended platform — CBS All Access. The first season of the series will air 15 episodes in total. And the freshman season will air in two parts on the streaming service (Netflix in Canada and worldwide).

Eight episodes will run from Sunday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 5. The latter half of the season will return in January 2018.

The press release adds some very vague language around the new crews and mission of Discovery:

Star Trek: Discovery will follow the voyages of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

We here at Hypable, of course, have a much more in-depth analysis of what is going on in the upcoming expansion of the Trek universe. Check out two superfans breakdown everything Star Trek: Discovery!

The trailer, which we’ve only watched about 100 times daily, features the first look at many of the new faces, races, and ships.
