Bryan Fuller’s new Star Trek series will boldly go to 188 countries via Netflix streaming the day after airing on CBS All Access in the United States.

Great news for Trekkies across the globe! CBS’s Star Trek, set to premiere in 2017, will be available outside of the United States within 24 hours after its release on CBS All Access thanks to a new deal with Netflix. For those who have a Netflix subscription the release will be preempted by the release of the entire Star Trek catalogue from the original to The Next Generation to Deep Space 9 and beyond. The release anticipates a global release for the previous series to be rolled out by the close of 2016.

If you reside in the United States, however, you will not be able to enjoy the perks of seeing the new series under Bryan Fuller’s command without subscribing to the CBS streaming service, CBS All Access. This will run you about $5.99 per month. No word on how Trek fans in Canada will be able to access the series since Netflix excludes the country from the streaming announcement and CBS All Access is not available outside of the United States. The first episode, currently slated for a January 2017 premiere will feature a new ship, crew, and mission and will air on the network before switching over exclusively to the streaming service.

The President and CEO of CBS Studios International, Armando Nuñez stated in the press release, “The launch of the new Star Trek will truly be a global television event. Star Trek is already a worldwide phenomenon and this international partnership will provide fans around the world, who have been craving a new series for more than a decade, the opportunity to see every episode virtually at the same time as viewers in the U.S. Thanks to our world-class partners at Netflix, the new Star Trek will definitely be ‘hailing on all frequencies’ throughout the planet.”

Production is set to being in Toronto this September. In the meantime, Fuller’s other project, American Gods is in full swing.

If you cannot wait for January 2017 to get your Star Trek fix, the third movie in the current franchise reboot starring Idris Elba, Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Karl Urban, and the late Anton Yelchin hits theaters this week!
