Bill Condon’s live-action Beauty and the Beast remake is now adding original characters, and The Hunger Games alum Stanley Tucci will play “Cadenza.”

Yesterday we learned that the final major role in Beauty and the Beast has been cast: the iconic candlestick Lumière will be played by Ewan McGregor.

But apparently, there are still more casting surprises coming for Bill Condon’s live-action remake!

Variety has learned that Hunger Games actor Stanley Tucci will play Cadenza, an original character. Cadenza is a grand piano in the castle, described as, “a neurotic maestro.”

This is probably not the only original character who’ll be joining Disney’s most hyped-up live-action remake. After all, it seems like every big actor in Hollywood is lining up to join Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the tale as old as time.

When the Beast’s cursed assistants help protect the castle at the end of Beauty of the Beast, will Cadenza do a classic piano flop on top of an enemy? He and the Wardrobe (Audra McDonald) could kick some serious ass thanks to their large size.

Earlier this month we learned that Sir Ian McKellen will play Cogsworth, rounding off an already formidable cast: Emma Thompson is Mrs Potts, Luke Evans is Gaston, Kevin Kline is Maurice, and Josh Gad is LeFou.
