Legendary comic book creator Stan Lee will add a cameo in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to his acting resume.

In a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Stan Lee confirms that he will briefly guest star in an upcoming episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Lee told THR that he will have a “big role” in the upcoming episode. Previously, the comic book creator has had brief but memorable cameos in almost every installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Lee’s numerous (and hilarious) appearances, along with his impressive body of work, have made the 91-year-old one of Marvel’s most recognizable and beloved faces.

Unsurprisingly, no further details have been released about the upcoming episode or Stan Lee’s role within it. The as-yet-untitled installment of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is tentatively set to air on Tuesday, Feb. 4. Still, a photo from the set of Lee’s upcoming episode shows the legendary creator (who serves as an executive producer on the series) looking quite dapper behind the scenes.

With Stan Lee, in the photo, is show runner and executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen, Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson) and Elizabeth Henstridge (Agent Jemma Simmons.) The background of the shot appears to be rather more retro than the ultra-modern “Bus” in which the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. jet around the globe, but it is hard to speculate on whether or not this will serve as an actual background in Lee’s episode.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return from its winter hiatus tonight, with a long-awaited episode titled “The Magical Place.” According to previews, it seems very likely that “The Magical Place” will reveal the mysteries behind Agent Coulson’s death at Loki’s hands (or pointy magical staff) in The Avengers. Actor Clark Gregg has promised fans that the conclusion to the mystery will prove satisfying.

“When I read the sequence,” Gregg said in a recent interview, “I just stopped and put the script down and went ‘Wow. That was worth waiting for.’”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1, episode 11, “The Magical Place,” will air tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
