Former High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has released a NSFW single titled “$$$ex,” which is accompanied with a dirty music video to promote her latest film Spring Breakers.
In a move to further break herself from her Disney Channel roots, Hudgens has hit a new extreme in the form of all things Spring Breakers.
Hudgens sings about sex, drugs, and alcohol in her latest single, “$$$ex,” influenced by the star’s R-rated flick which is currently in theaters.
The song itself has heavy autotune and dubstep influences, giving it a ‘crazy party scene’ vibe. While this may lend the track for heavy rotation in the club scene, the song is so different from the former Disney star’s previous singles (“Say Ok,” “Sneakernight”) it makes it difficult to even tell that this was Hudgens singing on the single.
“$$ex” is Hudgens’ first single in over four years. Her last musical credits were on the High School Musical 3: Senior Year soundtrack.

In related Spring Breakers news, Hudgens’ costar, Selena Gomez, is gearing up to release her own single’s release on April 6 that will serve as a promotion for her third studio album.
The song is titled “Come and Get It,” and while fans have to wait just a bit longer to listen to the track, they can currently enjoy a tease of the single’s official album art.
The picture below, which mixes together images of Spring Breakers and part of the album art of “Come and Get It,” is currently the cover photo on Gomez’s official Facebook page. Tune in to Hypable on April 6 to hear her single.
