A trailer for Edge of Winter shows off Marvel’s Spiderman Tom Holland’s more serious side.

You’ve seen him be awkward and hilarious in Captain America: Civil War, now see your future Peter Parker in a much more serious role.

Edge of Winter is directed by newcomer Rob Connolly, and also stars Percy Hynes White, Rachelle Lefevre, and Joel Kinnaman. It follows two brothers who find themselves stranded in the wild with their estranged, deranged father.

See the trailer below:

Holland is only 19, so a lot of his previous work has been as a child actor. This is the first real starring role he’s had since reaching his late teens, and it looks just as impressive as we’d hoped.

Immediately, Edge of Winter is giving us serious Winter’s Bone vibes (and not just cause of the name). Jennifer Lawrence’s pre-fame breakout role was similarly edgy and raw, and we can’t wait to see Tom Holland prove his serious acting skills to the world.

Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

“Recently divorced and laid off from his job, Elliot Baker (Joel Kinnaman, Suicide Squad; Run All Night) is desperate to spend more time bonding with his sons, Bradley (Tom Holland, Captain America: Civil War) and Caleb (Percy Hynes White, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb). What starts as family day trip to teach his boys how to shoot turns into a nightmare when they become stranded. As they retreat to a desolate cabin, Elliot’s mounting fear of losing custody pushes him to the edge. The brothers quickly realize that the man responsible for keeping them safe has now become their biggest threat.”

Edge of Winter hits theaters on August 12.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently filming in Atlanta, and premieres in exactly one year, on July 7, 2017.
