Fans hoping to see Andrew Garfield make an appearance in Spider-Man 3 might not want to hold their breath.

The actor, who played the web slinging superhero as part of The Amazing Spider-Man franchise has finally spoken out about rumors that he could be suiting back up to join Tom Holland for Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In a recent interview with the Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Garfield revealed that he “did not get a call” to appear in the highly anticipated movie.

“Listen, I can’t speak for anyone but for myself. They might be doing something, but I ain’t got a call,” Garfield told host Josh Horowitz with regards to his involvement in Spider-Man 3.

“I did not get a call,” continued Garfield when Horowitz doubled down and asked for a definitive answer. “Listen, I would have gotten a call by now, that’s all I’m saying.”

Andrew Garfield might have doubled down on his efforts to deny his involvement with Spider-Man 3 but that likely won’t stop fans from speculating that both he and Toby Maguire will be suiting back up to join Holland for the movie.

The jury might still be out when it comes to Garfield and Maguire, but as it stands, there are two Spidey vets from past franchise iterations who will be returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Specifically, Afred Molina and Jamie Foxx are on board to reprise their roles as villains Doctor Octopus and Electro, respectively.

Spider-Man: No Way Home swings onto the big screen on December 17, 2021.
