Plot details for the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel are being kept shrouded in secrecy for the time being, so fans will have to wait to find out how Jessica Drew’s path crosses with that of the film’s titular web slinger, Miles Morales.

Issa Rae joins returning cast members Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld, both of whom have already signed on to reprise their roles as Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, respectively.

Behind the camera, the sequel is set to be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. Meanwhile, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will write the script alongside David Callahan. Lord and Miller will also serve as producers on the project along with Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, Christina Steinberg, and Peter Ramsey, who directed the first film.

The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is set to swing into theaters on October 7, 2022.
