Robert Downey Jr. will bring Tony Stark and Iron Man to Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland.

THR reports that the actor, whose Iron Man character has helped bring Marvel’s Cinematic Universe to the heights it now rides at, will join the new Spider-Man movie. It’s just the latest in a series of solo Marvel films that are featuring other popular Avengers besides the one that the movie is titled after (Iron Man joining Captain America and Hulk joining Thor are the two most recent examples, and more team-ups are expected in the movies ahead).

Other trades offered addition details about the movie. The Wrap says that Tony Stark is expected to suit up as Iron Man, while Variety adds that Michael Keaton’s deal (he was in talks to play the villain) “may not work” after all.

And now, a slight spoiler warning as we get into Spider-Man and Iron Man’s relationship in next month’s Captain America: Civil War.

As the Civil War trailer hinted last month, Spider-Man joins Team Iron Man in the Captain America threequel. Here’s what you may not know: Earlier in the movie, Iron Man pays a visit to Aunt May (played by Marisa Tomei) and Peter Parker’s New York City apartment to ask for help in fighting Cap, after Tony Stark realizes that he and the other Avengers need more people on their team. THR says it’s this relationship that will be expanded upon in Homecoming.

Tony Stark’s presence in the Spider-Man reboot will also help shore up box office potential, which is already very high considering Spidey is now a part of the on-screen Avengers team. In fact, you may be surprised by just how much of a presence Spider-Man has in Civil War. And by the end of the movie, you’ll probably remember today’s report and be happy to know that Robert Downey Jr. will be appearing with Spidey again. Seriously, these two are really great together.

In recent weeks we’ve also learned that Zendaya and Michael Keaton are a part of Homecoming. The movie opens in theaters July 7, 2017, and then Avengers: Infinity War, Part 1 opens the following summer. In other words, Robert Downey Jr. has a bunch of Marvel deliciousness on his plate over the next couple years. Oh, and apparently a new Sherlock Holmes movie.
