Three of the Spice Girls were together this week and reports are saying new music was probably recorded!

Be still your ’90s-girl-band-loving heart! Melanie B, Geri and Emma of the Spice Girls were together this week according to a cryptic Facebook post from Melanie B herself.

The caption which reads “And I say oohhhh LALA” has been rumored to potentially be lyrics to a new song. Rumors suggest that three of them were in fact together this week in a studio in London writing new material for an upcoming album. According to the Telegraph, Eliot Kenedy, a producer from the Spice Girls’ second album Spice World, recently tweeted thoughts that suggest that he is also in on the project. “Now that was a day for the history books. Like 20 years had never happened. Proper friendship! Hit Song.”

Rumors have swirled since the 2012 London Olympics that the Spice Girls would be reuniting in 2016 in some way for the 20th anniversary of their iconic song “Wannabe.” As recently as August of 2015, Melanie B has continued to fuel the fire regarding some sort of reunion whether it be a song, an appearance, or even a full tour. The Telegraph also reports that they could be prepping a new album and potential tour in 2017.

Other rumors suggest that Melanie C and Victoria Beckham will not be a part of any anniversary plans with the Spice Girls in the coming months and years as both have moved on from their Spice Girls days. Melanie C in particular has mentioned that she is preferring to focus on her solo career. It seems impossible to have a proper reunion without Melanie C and Victoria though it will be exciting to see what this trio could release.

Are you excited for a potential new song, album and tour from the Spice Girls, 20 years since “Wannabe?”
