Netflix’s newest workplace comedy with a military twist, Space Force, has set a premiere date and dropped its first official photos for fans.

Given all the delays and cancellations in the entertainment industry, it’s now extra exciting to have something to look forward to.

Netflix’s Space Force will premiere exclusively on the streaming service on May 29.

The Netflix series will be Steve Carell’s first major sitcom role since leaving The Office, and will reunite him with the office creator Greg Daniels. The two co-created Space Force together, and will executive produce alongside another Office alum — 3 Arts’ Howard Klein, with whom the two previously worked with on the popular NBC sitcom.

Netflix awarded direct-to-series order to the show, which is described as a workplace comedy focusing on a group of people who must develop a sixth branch of the military. The show was inspired by the US president’s 2018 comments about founding an independent Space Force.

Space Force will be led by Golden Globe winner Steve Carell, best known for his other starring role in a Greg Daniels production. He will play General Mark R. Naird, an air force pilot who ends up in command of the new military branch.

Joining him at Space Force will be Lisa Kudrow of Friends fame, as his wife Maggie; John Malkovich (Bird Box) as Dr. Adrian Mallory; Diana Silvers (Booksmart, Ma) as Erin Naird; Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as F. Tony Scarapiducci; Jimmy O. Yang (Crazy Rich Asians, Silicon Valley) as Dr. Chan Kaifang; Tawny Newsome as Angela Ali and Alex Sparrow as Bobby Telatovich.

As Space Force is a workplace comedy starring Steve Carell, we’re sure that we can expect all the hilarious workplace shenanigans and day-to-day office hijinks that were made famous in his previous workplace comedy show.

The 10-episode first season of Space Force premieres on Netflix on May 29. Check out a few of the official photos from the show below!
