Struggling publisher THQ announced the delay of South Park: The Stick of Truth, Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2 during its investor call earlier today.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the South Park RPG was originally scheduled to release March 5, 2013. THQ has pushed the title to “early fiscal 2014,” meaning the earliest we’ll see it is April 1, 2013.

“I believe South Park‘s market opportunity is significant,” THQ President Jason Rubin said during the call. “It is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated titles of calendar 2013…We have been working closely with the co-creators of South Park, Matt Stone and Trey Parker, to make sure all of the game’s content performs to the high standards of the TV show, and this takes time.”

Both Metro: Last Light and Company of Heroes 2 are now scheduled for March 2013 releases, according to the publisher.

Company of Heroes 2Metro: Last Light and South Park: The Stick of Truth were all challenged, and were guaranteed to fall short of their design specs if forced to meet their announced release schedules,” Rubin said in the investor call.

Rubin also confirmed Homefront 2, a fourth Saints Row title, and an unannounced title from Turtle Rock Studios are all in development.

In addition to the delays, THQ also reported a $21 million loss on $107.4 million in revenue for the quarter and announced it is seeking financial help from consultants to help evaluate “strategic and financing alternatives.”

The lone bright spot in the earnings update was Darksiders II, reportedly shipping 1.4 million units during the quarter, enough for Rubin to deem “great.” A version of the game will ship on Wii U later this year.
