Sophia Bush is taking Hollywood by storm, set to develop and executively produce upcoming projects for 20th Century Fox.

One Tree Hill and Chicago P.D. star Sophia Bush has signed an exciting deal with 20th Century Fox, which will see her take on new roles both in front of and behind the camera.

After departing Chicago P.D. after four seasons, the actress is ready to pursue more production projects, saying in a statement, “Now more than ever, vital female voices need to be heard. I’m thrilled to begin developing content that inspires and excites me at 20th Century Fox TV.”

Bush previously directed and produced an episode of One Tree Hill, and has been very politically outspoken, notably fighting for gay rights and women’s issues.

The deal, as detailed by The Hollywood Reporter, includes a starring role in an upcoming comedy or drama project, as well as “additional projects” which she will develop and executive produce.

Fox TV Group exec vp Sharon Klein says of the deal:

“We’ve been great admirers of Sophia for years and after meeting, we knew we wanted to be in business with her. She’s smart, she’s passionate and she brings great ideas and energy to the table. This deal is about developing with her as well as casting her into a comedy or drama this pilot season. She’s a giant TV star and we’re thrilled to have her exclusively at FTG.”

As a long-time admirer of Sophia Bush, I’m personally very excited to see what she comes up with!
