On the heels of a PR campaign today built around wishing title Snow White and the Huntsman actress Kristen Stewart a happy 22nd birthday, it might seem counter-intuitive to talk about a sequel to that story minus that title character, but that’s exactly what is on the mind of Universal chief Ron Meyer.

Meyer spoke with THR to clear up some remarks he made earlier in the year regarding “We [Universal] make sh**y movies” that he felt were taken out of context. In the course of the conversation, he mentioned the following:

Meyer said that while the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman doesn’t appear to lend itself to a sequel, Universal thinks it can do more movies based on the character of the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) if it is successful.

The timing of such a statement is not what one would call ideal, as just today Universal has gone out of its way to wish their Snow White, Kristen Stewart, a happy birthday by releasing a new still and supplying birthday wishes from her three co-stars.

Granted no one has seen the film yet, but how do you feel about a sequel focusing more on the Huntsman than on Snow White?
