Saturday Night Live returned for season 41 last night with a couple of surprise appearances and a few great sketches.

Naturally, SNL’s first subject for season 41 was Donald Trump. The cold open featured the real estate mogul turned Republican candidate (played by Taran Killam) and his wife (Cecily Strong) making a case for his candidacy. Killam clearly has a good hold on playing Trump — he perfectly recreated several of the candidate’s classic facial expressions.

For her opening monologue, Miley came out (in a really bad swimsuit-type dress) and sang farewell to summer. As she performed, SNL cast members appeared as various familiar faces from the headlines over the past few months, including Pizza Rat, Kim Davis, Jared Fogle, and Josh Duggar. Miley’s dress may’ve been weird, but the writers offered a strong bit full of surprises.

In another sketch, Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance as a bartender named Val to fake Hillary (Kate McKinnon). She did a nice little Donald Trump impression and made fun of her own political stances (like how long it took to come around on gay marriage). The skit even featured a quick cameo from Daryl Hammond as Bill Clinton.

Following the commercial, Hillary introduced Miley Cyrus. It was arguably the biggest misstep of her Presidential campaign so far.

A new skit called “The Millennials” made fun of younger generations and their modern ways (like their obsession with selfies). It was very similar to SNL’s popular, and seemingly retired, “The Californians” skit.

Leslie Jones — the cast member whose job it is to yell in every sketch — was tasked with having intense orgasms in a Harry Met Sally-inspired skit:

Finally, an SNL digital skit depicted the world facing an apocalypse caused by Taylor Swift’s popularity:
