Ronda Rousey hosted SNL last night, but her appearance was eclipsed by Tina Fey reprising her iconic impression of Sarah Palin!

Earlier this week, 2008 Vice Presidential candidate and reality star Sarah Palin appeared at a rally to endorse Donald Trump for President. As such, I personally noted that the only good thing to come out of that somewhat frightening announcement was the possibility of Tina Fey returning to SNL this weekend — and I was right!

Sure enough, in the cold open, we got to see 2016 Sarah Palin as opposed to the 2008 version that Fey has previously portrayed many times.

Though Tina Fey brought the laughs in the cold open, the rest of the episode fell slightly flat. Ronda Rousey was a natural on camera, but didn’t seem to get the lines to keep the audience laughing.

The first sketch of the night featured a spoof on the controversy surrounding all of the white people nominated for Oscars this year.

In the digital sketch of the night, Ronda Rousey plays a high school student who got set up by Vanessa Bayer’s mean girl character. But, the last thing you should be doing is trying to bully Ronda Rousey!

Selena Gomez was the musical guest and also appeared in a couple of sketches as well. Check out her performances below.

SNL will take a week off before returning on February 6. Fans will be excited to know that Larry David will host along with musical guest The 1975. David made similar buzz as Fey earlier this season when he portrayed a spot-on Bernie Sanders impression.
