Last night funny woman Sarah Silverman hosted SNL with musical guest Maroon 5. Check out our recap featuring some of the highlights from the episode.

Sarah Silverman kicked of SNL’s second episode of the season. The episode, which featured Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine popping into a few sketches, fell flat overall and definitely didn’t hold a candle to last week’s season premiere with Chris Pratt.

Silverman, who was a writer and occasional performer during SNL’s 93-94 season, started the episode with a unique and interesting monologue which included clips from her time on the show. Check it out below:

One of the stand out segments of the night was a spoof of this summer’s highly-anticipated movie The Fault In Our Stars. Instead of being sick with cancer, Silverman spoofs the female lead admitting she suffers from Ebola. Check out the trailer for The Fault In Our Stars 2: The Ebola In Everything.

Silverman also paid tribute to the late Joan Rivers who tragically passed away in August. Silverman as Rivers joined some other fallen celebrities in a roast in the clip which also added a graphic to pay respect to the late female comedian.

Maroon 5 performed a couple songs from their latest album V which was just released at the end of August. Check out their performance of Animal below:

Though Silverman is hilarious and a respected comedian and actor in the industy, the sketches and episode overall came in a little under par this time.

What were your thoughts about last night’s new episode?

Next week SNL alum and fan-favorite Bill Hader will host for the first time (and surely bring back Stefon, right!?) along with musical guest Hozier.
