Last night Martin Freeman hosted SNL with musical guest Charlie XCX. Check out our recap of the best sketches of the night!

In Martin Freeman’s opening monologue he talked a little about himself before Kate McKinnon and Taran Killam portrayed Brits, Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman!

In the first sketch of the night, Freeman played the groom of a WNBA star played by Leslie Jones. A lot of people had a lot to say about these two getting married. Though Freeman and Jones were hilarious, Kate McKinnon steals the sketch with her complaint:

In a pre-taped segment, Freeman played a hybrid of his character Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit as they spoofed the show Freeman once appeared in earlier in his career, The Office. The sketch includes other characters from The Hobbit working in a paper company. Check out “The Office: Middle Earth”

In another pre-taped segment, SNL highlighted all the different personalities that people have to deal with when they go to Christmas mass the night before Christmas. The sketch, titled “St. Joseph’s Christmas Mass Spectacular” hits the nail on the head:

In last night’s designated strange-yet-hilarious sketch of the night, Aidy Bryant was trying to sell waterbeds with Martin Freeman and it was pretty amazing:

Charlie XCX performed “Boom Clap” and “Break The Rules.” Check out both full performances below:

Next week, SNL will round out 2014 with its last episode of the year with host Amy Adams (Into the Woods) and musical guest One Direction.
