Last night Louis C.K. returned to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to host SNL alongside musical guest Sam Smith. Check out our recap of the hilarious episode.

Last night’s cold open featured Jay Pharoah spoofing President Barack Obama, who was working with a young social media expert on how to make viral photographs. Impressions of Kim Kardashian, Harry Styles and Justin Bieber dropped by for one of the more entertaining cold opens of the season.

Louis C.K. opened with a little bit of stand-up comedy for his opening monologue. He brought his usual which had everyone in the audience (and at home) laughing out loud. Check it out:

Louis C.K. also lent his comedic skills for a sketch called “Black Jeopardy” where he played a professor of African-American studies. The awkward (and absolutely hilarious) sketch featured lots of stereotypes.

In another digital sketch, Louis C.K. visited the doctor and awkwardly talked his doctor about potentially putting an action figure someplace it shouldn’t be. Watch the uncomfortable sketch below:

British artist Sam Smith made his U.S. television debut on last night’s episode of SNL as well. He performed “Stay With Me” and “Lay Me Down.” Watch his performance of “Lay Me Down” below:

Next week, Pitch Perfect’s Anna Kendrick will host SNL for the first time in her career alongside music superstar Pharrell.
