Last night actor James Franco hosted SNL for the third time in his career alongside musical guest Nicki Minaj, who also appeared in a number of sketches.

In the opening monologue of the night, Franco joked about the Sony Pictures hack when his The Interview co-star Seth Rogen came to tell him these same hackers would be releasing private photos of the two of them. Franco and Rogen have become known for their affectionate bromance that has blossomed over the years. Check out the great opening below:

In the first sketch of the night, SNL spoofed this week’s NBC live musical Peter Pan Live with the return of the hilarious character Tonker Bell played by Aidy Bryant. “I am back and…that’s wassup,” says Tonker Bell! Franco also spoofs Christopher Walken’s portrayal of Captain Hook in this week’s special.

In another digital exclusive SNL spoofed the new buzzworthy Star Wars trailer that recently debuted by making fun of the decades old series. Interestingly, the version of this video that aired live on the east coast had in-complete special effects. Some shots still had their green screen backgrounds, and it sounded like the audio hadn’t been reviewed. The online version is complete, so it looks like they may’ve played the wrong version on television last night.

In another sketch featuring a spoof of a musical special event on MTV called “Jingle Ballerz,” we saw parodies of Justin Bieber by Kate McKinnon (yessss!) and Nicki Minaj herself portraying Beyonce. This sketch is a must-see:

Later in the night, Franco played the disgruntled political figure who lost a mayoral race to a 4-year-old. “Tommy crapped his pants last week. I’ve crapped my pants all year!” screams Franco as he tries to prove that he’s more qualified than the 4 year-old. Franco also breaks character a few times laughing at the outrageousness of the sketch.

In the final episode of the night, Seth Rogen makes another appearance alongside Franco in the recurring sketch featuring Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong as former porn-stars-turned-saleswomen.

Nicki Minaj performed “Only” and “All Things Go,” but the performances are not online at this time.
