Last night Andrew Garfield hosted SNL for the first time in his career along with musical guest Coldplay. Check out this recap of last night’s exceptional episode featuring some video highlights.

Last night’s cold open focused on the recent racsim controversy surrounding Donald Sterling.

Kenan Thompson also portrayed Steve Harvey in a Celebrity Family Feud episode featuring such “celebrities” as Justin Timberlake, Adele, Bruno Mars, Shakira, Reba McIntyre, Drake and Skrillex.

In a digital short, Andrew Garfield played a man who isn’t a fan of Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love,” which cued a hit team named The Beygency to come after him – because who doesn’t love Beyonce!?

Taran Killam’s passive aggressive newspaper critic character Jebidiah Atkinson made another appearance on Weekend Update talking about the Tony Award nominees:

And in what was probably the highlight of the entire episode, Chris Martin of Coldplay interrupted a kiss scene in Spider-Man (also featuring Emma Stone) to lend his kissing skills for the movie. Although it’s kind of awkward overall, it’s fun to see Andrew Garfield look somewhat visibly uncomfortable! Check out the guy-on-guy action below:

Coldplay also took to the stage for two performances. Check out the full performance of the song “Magic” from their upcoming new album Ghost Stories:

Next week Charlize Theron will host SNL with musical guest The Black Keys.
