Saturday Night Live has unveiled its December lineup which includes the likes of Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Murphy, and more!

Update (11/20/19): Saturday Night Live has padded out its 45th season on air with some pretty impressive talent from Harry Styles to Phoebe Waller-Bridge. But that doesn’t mean NBC’s hit comedy sketch show is slowing down as it heads into the last month of the year!

SNL took to its official Twitter account to share a list of hosts and musical guests we can expect to see hit the stage come December.

Up first for next month is Jennifer Lopez who will serve as host for the night on December 7, with musical guest Da Baby. Lopez’ stint will be followed by Scarlett Johansson, who will host on December 14 with musical guest (and former One Directioner) Niall Horan.

Finally, the comedy show revealed that former cast member Eddie Murphy would be returning to the Saturday Night Live stage to host the show on December 21. Murphy will be joined by Grammy Award nominee Lizzo, who will serve as the night’s musical performer.

Murphy’s episode is one that we’ve known about for quite some time. In fact, SNL revealed back in August that the comedian would be returning to host the show for the first time since he left in 1984 on December 21.

One thing we didn’t know is who would be performing as the night’s musical guest during Murphy’s episode so it’s great to see that they’ve tapped Lizzo to fill that spot!

Original Story (10/14/19):

Over the course of the last few decades, we’ve seen some pretty big A-listers hit the stage on Saturday Night Live as hosts and musical guests, but not many can say they’ve pulled double duty on the long running sketch comedy series.

One star who’ll soon be able to say they served the role of host and musical guest on the same night is none other than Chance the Rapper.

The “Hot Shower” artist took to Instagram to share the exciting news with fans far and wide, revealing that he’d be hitting the Saturday Night Live stage on October 26.

In addition, Chance wrote a lengthy caption in which he revealed that pulling double duty on SNL has been a “life long goal.”

“Since I was a shorty I wanted to join the short list of talents who pulled #doubleduty at SNL. Now I will be the 27th person across 45 seasons to hold this honor!” wrote the rapper. “I’ve performed as a guest twice (not including “Ultralight Beam”) and hosted once (musical guest Eminem), but I’m finally doin’ the whole shebang!!”

Chance the Rapper follows some pretty huge stars who’ve already hit the SNL stage this season.

Back in August, Saturday Night Live took to Twitter to announce
its first round of hosts and performers for season 45.

“Live from your timeline, we’ve got some news,” tweeted the series, along with a list of names that includes the likes of Emmy nominee Phoebe Waller-Bridge, returning cast member Eddie Murphy, and musical guests such as Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s hosting stint on October 5 is sure to draw in viewers. In fact, one person who’s already voiced their excitement over the Fleabag star getting to make her SNL debut is none other than Taylor Swift, who also happen to be the musical guest for the Fleabag star’s episode.

The Lover singer took to Twitter to gush about how excited she is to be booked on the same night as the Emmy nominated Brit.

“Ever since I saw Fleabag, I’ve been all ‘I can’t wait to see this woman host @nbcsnl’ and its finally happening now + I get to be there too = I am in shambles,” tweeted Swift, who also took to Instagram to further share her love of Waller-Bridge.

Of interest to SNL aficionados will undoubtedly be Saturday Night Live’s December 21 episode which will mark the grand return of former cast member Eddie Murphy. Murphy’s involvement will also mark the comedian’s first time hosting the show since he departed back in 1984.
