Tonight’s Saturday Night Live season 39 episode will be helmed by comedian Louis C.K., best known for his stand up routine and FX’s Louie.

The musical guest is Sam Smith, who will be promoting his new album In the Lonely Hour, out this June.

Louis C.K. and SNL’s Kenan Thompson released a slew of quick promos earlier this week in which the two stars talk about a variety of random topics. It looks like they relied a little bit on improv – a comedy style the two actors are very familiar with.

C.K. won’t be there to promote anything in particular it seems, but the comedian has been plenty busy over the past year. He most recently appeared in American Hustle with a supporting role opposite Bradley Cooper’s character. His most recent comedy special Oh My God premiered on HBO last April.

This will be C.K.’s second time hosting the show. His first was in November 2012 during which he played Abraham Lincoln in a spoof of the opening credits to Louie.

Saturday Night Live airs Saturday, March 29 at 11:30 p.m. eastern/pacific on NBC.
