This week comedian Aziz Ansari hosted SNL along with musical guest Big Sean. Check out some of the highlights from the episode.

Cold Open

As you might expect, the cold open from this week’s episode was political in nature. This week, Beck Bennett celebrated Donald Trump’s inauguration by playing his recurring impression of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The sketch featured a cameo by Kate McKinnon’s recurring Weekend Update character.

Opening Monologue

Aziz Ansari made history being the first south Asian man to host SNL. Ansari used the monologue to do some stand-up comedy work, holding a microphone throughout. Ansar’s monologue focused on race relations.

Beat the Bookworm

In the first sketch of the night, Ansari played a bookworm who knew nothing about the ’90s. Check out the hilarious game show which features Vanessa Bayer as the contestant.

To Sir with Love

Cecily Strong and Sasheer Zamata took a moment to pay respect to President Obama with a musical number. This wasn’t the first serious moment on the show this season. Following Hillary Clinton’s general election loss in November, Kate McKinnon took to the piano to sing “Hallelujah” in a moving tribute as well.

Kellyanne Conway Chicago Parody

In a digital sketch, Kate McKinnon reprised her impression of Kellyanne Conway, this time satirizing her attention for the spotlight. In this sketch, full of dancing and singing, McKinnon parodies the musical Chicago.

Big Sean

Big Sean also performed twice during the episode. Check out his performances of “Bounce Back” and “Sunday Morning Jetback” below.

Next on ‘SNL’

SNL will take a week off before returning on February 4 with host Kristen Stewart and musical guest Alessia Cara.
