Ariana Grande joined the list of a handful of celebrities who pulled double duty at SNL as host and musical guest, and she was great!

The show opened with one of the better cold opens of the season featuring more political parodies, per usual. Larry David dropped by one more time as Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders, and poked a few jabs at his passionate supporters.

In Ariana Grande’s opening monologue, she and Keenan Thompson commiserated about growing up as child stars on Nickelodeon. It also featured a rather impressive performance where she wondered what her scandal will be as an adult star. We would love to download this song!

SNL kept the momentum going with a digital sketch of Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton spoofing Bernie Sanders. The sketch showed off the diversity of McKinnon’s acting and impersonations — sounding almost exactly like Bernie Sanders.

The first live sketch of the night featured Taran Killam, Vanessa Bayer and Ariana Grande playing Kids’ Choice Awards reporters who can’t quite seem to get the countdown clock right.

Ariana Grande also showed off her impression skills while she saved TIDAL from losing Britney Spears and Shakira streams from going down!

Ariana Grande also performed two songs, including “Dangerous Woman” and “Be Alright.” Check out the performances below.

It was announced during the episode that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage will host SNL alongside musical guest Gwen Stefani when the show returns live on April 2.
