On Batwoman season 1, episode 16, after hiding Cartwright’s body, Kate and Alice now have to try to find Mouse, who’s on a killing spree. What could go wrong when your psychotic sister is there to help?

Batwoman season 1, episode 16 finds Kate with torn priorities and a torn conscience, as the Kane family (for the first time, they’re all together again) work together to dispose of August Cartwright’s body, and it’s easy to expect Alice to be rubbing this in Kate and Jacob’s face for a long, long time.

But, from the sneak peek below, it seems like the deceased August Cartwright is the least of the Kane family’s concerns…

‘Batwoman’ season 1, episode 16 sneak peek

Watch this exclusive sneak peek of Batwoman season 1, episode 16 below!

On this sneak peek of Batwoman season 1, episode 16, Kate (Ruby Rose) and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) — posing as undercover Crows Security agents — are on protective duty as they try to put an end to Mouse’s (Sam Littlefield) post-fear toxin killing spree.

Not shown here is how the sisters already disposed of August Cartwright, who at the end of Batwoman season 1, episode 15, was lying on the floor, dead, after Kate lost her temper and killed him. From the sneak peek, there’s definitely more than one Cartwright causing problems for the Kane family (which is so awfully ironic, seeing as two members of that family are now dead).

We buried a body this morning. When did you have time to eat?

From the sneak peek above, it’s clear that this will be a big episode for Kate and Alice’s relationship, which hasn’t been on the best of terms since Alice killed Catherine on the mid-season finale. Last we heard from Kate, she’d given up on Alice completely after trying to save the other Earth’s Beth Kane instead of her Alice, which (obviously) did not please Alice to hear.

As Rachel Skarsten teased in our exclusive interview, Kate and Alice are in new waters now, and they’re starting to see each other in a new light after this tragic mess (particularly how Kate sees Alice after crossing that line herself).

Honestly, the most surprising part of this sneak peek is the revelation that Mouse is in the episode and on a killing spree. Following his father’s death, there’s even more reason to believe that Mouse is the Big Bad of season 1, and I think this could be an interesting parallel to the story told over the course of this season with Alice.

Perhaps, come season’s end, Alice will have to face the fact that Mouse is irredeemable, unable to be saved from the madness and darkness that has enveloped him, and her first moment of redemption will come at the expense of losing her brother to protect her twin sister. Perhaps Mouse’s downfall will show Alice how she can change and become a better person before she ends up just like the Cartwrights.

Whatever the case, we’ll have to see what happens on this episode first!

The official description, as released by The CW, for Batwoman season 1, episode 16, “Through the Looking Glass,” reads:

“FACING THE PAST – Kate (Ruby Rose) begins to question her instincts and Luke (Camrus Johnson) gets upsetting news. Alice (Rachel Skarsten) seeks her sister’s help with a special task.”

This episode is sure to be killer (though, maybe not as killer as the previous one)!

Batwoman season 1, episode 16 airs Sunday, March 22 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW!
