Snapchat unveiled a pair of changes to their app on Tuesday. One new feature is a lot of fun, while the second change is pretty dumb.

First, the fun one. Snapchat’s new Lenses feature lets you make adjustments to your face when you press and hold your mug in selfie mode. At launch Lenses gives you options like aging yourself, stepping inside an Iron Man-like mask, and the ability to vomit rainbows. Above are three photos of me within the Lenses feature (Shameless plug: Follow me on Snapchat — username “andrewsims”).

A quick check of Twitter reveals users are enjoying the new Snapchat Lenses:

I played with the feature and found it pretty easy to use, but it’s still a little buggy. If you run into problems while switching Lenses, try re-mapping your face by pressing and holding on it again.

Now, the bad addition to Snapchat. You can now replay snaps from your friends multiple times — but you’ll have to pay up. You can buy packs of replays beginning at 99 cents for three replays.

This replay joins the previously existing feature which would allow one replay per Snapchatter per day. In another words, if you want to replay more than one snap per day, you now can now do that… If you pay up.

This is the first time Snapchat is charging to use its services. Currently it makes most of its money through those ads and sponsored filters.

We’re sure Sponsored Lenses aren’t too far down the road. In the mean time, have fun with the ad-free lenses!
