The entirety of Smash Ultimate has leaked, and it’s a damn shame to see years of hard work being experienced through viral tweets and Facebook posts.

Hypable will not be reporting on any of the spoilers, nor will we be looking them up. It’s as simple as this: we’ve all waited years for the ultimate Smash Bros. to come out, and we were meant to all experience it together on day one.

Having these massive bursts of leaked information hit the internet degrades our relationship with series creator Masahiro Sakurai. He is a man that takes little to no breaks during the productions of one of his games, often to his health’s detriment, all selflessly. That sort of work ethic is bound to trickle down through the whole team, seeing as making such a wonderful title as Smash Ultimate doesn’t just happen overnight.

It’s newsworthy to report that Smash Ultimate has leaked, but it crosses a line when reporters, social media influencers, and fans are taking it upon themselves to spoil anyone and everyone that they can.

The day one release of any game allows you to go into a sort of bubble. You can shut off all social media platforms, making it impossible for anyone who’s already beaten the game to spoil you on endgame content. With a leak this massive almost 2 weeks before Smash Ultimate releases, we simply don’t get that option.

So if you do come across spoilers, or you see someone sharing them blatantly on a Facebook Group, Tumblr post, Twitter thread, ect., try your best to avoid them. Against his better judgement, Sakurai made a new story mode in World of Light, something that he skipped in Smash 4 because he was fearful of such leaks.

When something feels this good to play, make it worth your wait. Do you remember your first experiences playing through Subspace Emissary? You likely were seeing character moments for the first time as you’ve played through them. For me, that was a magical experience that I can’t wait to replicate with World of Light.

Out of respect for yourself, and even more so, out of respect for the developers that spent endless hours developing not only this, but all six Smash Bros. titles, #KeepTheSecrets.
