As the Smash season 2 premiere nears (47 days!), we’re getting new nuggets of information about what’s to come in the new season. Minor spoilers and photos follow!

Thanks to TVLine, we’re learning more details about Andy Mientus and Jeremy Jordan’s (Newsies) characters, who will play Kyle and Jimmy – friends aspring to write the next great Broadway musical. Jimmy will play a love interest for Karen, though he doesn’t make the best first impression with her.

TVLine has also revealed how the show will handle the departures of Brian d’Arcy James (Frank), Jaime Cepero (Ellis), Raza Jaffrey (Dev) and Will Chase (Michael Swift). According to the entertainment site, Michael Swift’s departure will be dealt with quickly, which we assume means Bombshell gets a new Joe DiMaggio very soon. Frank gets a “messy farewell scene,” Dev “gets in a few last (handwritten) words” and Ellis doesn’t even get mentioned.
