It’s a wrap on Smash season 2 filming. With low ratings and an uncertain future for the show, the cast of the NBC musical drama took to Twitter to document their last, bittersweet days on set.

After a premiere season full of highs and lows, the revamped cast of Smash began shooting the show’s sophomore season in July. Eight months later, all their hard work has to come to an end, but is it over for good?

While Katharine McPhee (Karen) tweeted a clumsy moment on her last day, Megan Hilty (Ivy), Debra Messing (Julia) and more tweeted more emotional goodbyes.

It should be noted that Jeremy Jordan (Jimmy) clarified his tweet saying, “Just so u know, folks, when I said it’s my last day, I mean we’re done filming the season. And hopefully we’ll all be back for season 3!”

However, ratings for the musical drama have been steadily declining since its premiere last year, so a third season looks more and more unlikely. Just last week, Smash scored a 0.7 rating in the all-important 18-49 age group, roping in only 2.6 million viewers – the lowest rating for a primetime network TV show Tuesday night. That’s down from 11.4 million viewers during the series premiere in February 2012 and down from 4.47 million during the season 2 premiere last month.

On the bright side, Smash continues to gain viewers in DVR ratings and NBC’s ratings giant, The Voice, returns March 25.
