Although their show has been off the air since May, Smash co-stars Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty are already plotting a reunion on a comedy web show, and their performance may be of the musical variety.

In the announcement noting the upcoming mini-Smash reunion on the comedy web show It Could Be Worse, McPhee and Hilty appear in an Instagram video sight-reading the lyrics to Lorde’s “Royals.”

It’s not yet known when in season 2 of It Could Be Worse McPhee and Hilty will make their appearance, or what roles they’ll take.

It Could Be Worse stars Smash alum Wesley Taylor (Bobby, seasons 1 and 2) as Jacob, a Broadway wannabe looking to make it big in a New York minute. Although he was cast in his first big Broadway show, he’s often stuck at home tending to a needy long-term boyfriend or is held back by his overbearing parents.

Other Smash stars that have made appearances on It Could Be Worse include Andy Mientus, Jeremy Jordan, Kysta Rodriguez, Debra Messing, and Will Chase.

Comparisons to Smash were made by The Washington Post in an article about one of the web show’s stars. “It Could Be Worse is what Smash, the disappointing backstage-on-Broadway series, might have been, had it found a looser and sharper-witted footing.”

Smash aired its series finale in early 2013. Since then, Smash lived on this past December through live concert performances of the in-show production Hit List by Smash stars Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, and Jeremy Jordan.
