On the last Tuesday episode of the season, tonight’s Smash featured both Karen and Ivy’s parents intervening in their lives, while Jimmy’s past caught up with him in 2×09, “The Parents.”

What did you think about “The Parents”? Did you like seeing more of Bernadette Peters? Do you wish her and Ivy got along better? Or do you think she deserves her daughter’s reluctance? They were being very fake-nice to each other in rehearsals.

We felt a bit of a relief when they finally let out their emotions, per Tom’s prompting. Was Ivy justified in telling Tom they’re no longer friends, in that she works for him now?

Did Jimmy’s old friend showing up show enough of his true personality for Derek to justify telling him to stay away from Karen? What did you think of Derek catching him in the act of stealing the patron’s watch, and offering to pay off Jimmy’s friend? It seems as though Jimmy has been under the guise of many names in the past too…

Also, how did Ana do on “Reach For Me”? Were you a fan of the high flying cloth-dancing? How did Bernadette Peters fair in “Hang the Moon” as Marilyn’s mother?

Bombshell enters tech in one week! The cast and crew better get their act together!

Make sure to tune into Saturday’s episode of Smash, where Liza Minelli will guest star.
