Sleepy Hollow is a television show that’s entirely based on the apparent coming of the apocalypse, and with several demons now out of our way the only question we have now is: Where are the real players in this war?

Every show that has dealt with the apocalypse has eventually shown us at least one side of the war — either the Devil or God himself has made an appearance. With Supernatural we’ve seen Lucifer, and with we’ve met their equivalent (the Source of all Evil) so now we wonder: Is Sleepy Hollow going to introduce someone like that this season?

We all know that Sleepy Hollow has to raise its stakes to really make things change; Pandora’s plan has finally come to fruition but where did she go? According to Ichabod, the tree they saw her walk into has been associated with an entrance to the Underworld. So the only logical explanation is that the Underworld is really going to be Hell. That is, if Hell is what they decide to call it.

While Pandora is there, or theoretically there we should say, we don’t expect her to return empty handed, or even alone. So this would be the perfect time for the show to finally introduce the man, or beast, that is behind the entire war against good: Lucifer, aka, the Devil.

On each side of the war we’ve seen several chess pieces moved in an attempt to win the game. Ichabod and Abbie represent the king and queen of the good side while we believe the equivalent to be Henry and Pandora for the evil side. But enough with the pieces — who’s moving them?

It’s only natural that we question this — it is the apocalypse after all! Three seasons in and we’ve yet to really see God or the Devil. We’ve seen a dark (?) angel and we’ve seen the horsemen of the apocalypse but these and every other villain we’ve seen in this show have just been the smaller parts of a bigger puzzle. If Sleepy Hollow doesn’t bring at least one side to the screen by the end of the season then how do they expect us to keep watching?

We love what Pandora has done for the show so far and can’t wait to see Ichabod and Abbie deal with what happens next but we really hope that before the show ends this season we at least get to see one side of the apocalypse come to the screen — especially if this might be the last season we get!

Tomorrow’s episode makes the most sense to introduce Lucifer or God, as the title is “The Art of War.” While the synopsis doesn’t say anything specifically about them being part of the episode it does say “a new, more dangerous evil force is revealed.” Literally what can possibly be more dangerous than Moloch, the demon in control of the four horsemen of the apocalypse?! We have one answer, but maybe Sleepy Hollow has a different one. Guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

Do you think ‘Sleepy Hollow’ should bring on God or the Devil?

Sleepy Hollow returns this Thursday at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, with season 3, episode 7 “The Art of War.”
