Sleepy Hollow season 1, episode 7 “The Midnight Ride” aired tonight, and this time Ichabod and Abbie are on a mission to finally kill the Headless Horseman. Did they do it? Find out in our recap!

-The episode starts off with Paul Revere’s ride in 1775
-The headless horseman is after Paul Revere
-Then it goes to a scene where Ichabod is astounded by all the bulk food Abbie’s brought to the Cabin. Hah.
-Abbie then tells Ichabod how tap water has chemicals and the lake is…he doesn’t want to know how dirty.
-Ichabod is meeting with the Masons about the weaknesses of the Headless Horseman, and Abbie is annoyed it’s guys only.
-Abbie has a conversation with her ex, Morales, and she explains Jenny is moving out of the institution and into Abbie’s apartment. Yay!
-Abbie’s ex then has a meeting with Andy, where he warns him to stay away from Abbie. Apparently Andy is “protecting Abbie from the end.” And there are others like Andy, watching. …creepy.
-Ichabod leaves Abbie a bewildered voice mail, astounded that he can record his voice. Telling her he will work with the Masons to rectify the whole ‘no girls’ thing
-As Ichabod arrives at the house, he hears strange noises, and the Headless Horseman is in the mansion. Abbie arrives just in the nick of time.
-The Headless Horseman has returned and rides away! OH NOES.
Destroy the damn thing!
-During an investigation at the mansion, Captain Irving is telling Abbie and Ichabod they need to come up with a believable solution to what’s happening.
-Ichabod searches for a clue in the books belonging to the Masons. It looks like the Headless Horseman was ahead of him and cut off a bunch of pages from a book.
-In 1771 when the Horseman slashed his chest, Ichabod thought ‘If I die, he’s coming with me.’ and he cut his head off. Abbie and Ichabod really, really want this guy dead.
-The Horseman came to the mansion looking for his skull, as the Masons normally handle artifacts and secrets. But he can’t get it, guys! Because if he does the other Horseman will arise.
-Ichabod and Abbie then decide to destroy the head, and go to Captain Irving to get permission to destroy evidence.
-Captain Irving goes to the lab where the head is, and the scientist says there’s no DNA markers, no signs of life, nothing.
That’s just GROSS.
-The Headless Horseman arrives at the scene where his head is at, and Captain Irving has to run away with the head!
-Under attack, Captain Irving shoots a pipe and some random fog/cold stuff comes out to freeze the horseman.
-Captain Irvin then runs out and drives the car out into the distance
-Meeting with Abbie and Ichabod, Captain Irving is having trouble believing everything, but he finally believes! FINALLY.
-Ichabod tries to destroy the head using hammers and chemicals and everything they could possibly use, and they can’t.
-Ichabod says 4 lanterns hung up, explains Paul Revere’s system. Abbie wants to know what 4 means if 1 means land and 2 means sea.
-Those aren’t lanterns, they’re hollowed out heads of the Masons…EWWWWWW.
-Back in his day, Ichabod remembers Paul Revere getting a book/manuscript labeled with a secret symbol of demonic stuff, and thinks that the manuscript has the secret that details how to destroy the Horseman.
Accidental Porn
-Ichabod and Abbie go to the Tarrytown Museum of Colonial History. …hysterical!
-Ichabod corrects the tour guide with what really happened during Paul Revere’s ride. Hah!
-The manuscript is on its way to London, but it was uploaded online! …Ichabod has no idea what that means.
-Ichabod has a lot of trouble with Abbie’s Macbook. Ahaha, you poor thing.
-The manuscript is encrypted in code, and Ichabod is the only person who can decipher it. Yay! As long as he figures out what the code word is.
-Abbie calls Luke and reschedules. Damn girl, you have good cell reception in those tunnels!
-Andy sneaks up on Abbie. What the heck!
-Andy, all creepy and creepy and ew, tells Abbie that he’s trying to protect her.
-Meanwhile, Ichabod stumbles upon an adult dating site. Talking to an ad that asked ‘Hey sexy, wanna chat’? Ahahaha.
-Paul Revere is the password to the cypher on the back of the Headless Horseman’s skull’s teeth. …what.
Witchy witch magic time!
-Andy thinks that they can’t kill the Horseman, but they can trap him. It’s a secret that the Headless Horseman doesn’t want let out.
-Andy ‘claims’ to want to help Abbie. Ichabod tells Andy to tell the Horseman if he wants his head back, meet him at the cemetery at night fall.
-In 1782 the Masons added the way to destroy the Horseman. It said that Death cannot be slain, but it can be captured against it’s will. A witch must be summoned to transform the moon into the Sun.
-They need a witch! But who?! WHO!? Not Katrina. …we wish.
-Abbie thinks they don’t need a witch, but they can use UV light/artificial sunlight to trap him. …I don’t think this will work…
-They get Captain Irving to help them prepare for the task of trapping the Horseman.
-During which, they talk about how Thomas Jefferson stole Ichabod’s line about press and how Samuel Adams had fathered 6 children with a slave woman. Ichabod is APPALLED.
-Ichabod and Abbie have a beautiful moment where they realize they’ll have each other, even if they can’t tell anyone else their secret. D’awww. We ship it so hard.
Horseman gone got himself PUNK’D
-Ichabod meets the Horseman at the cemetery while also on horseback, and leads the Horseman to the tunnels.
-They go through a ridiculously anticipating chase through the halls, and the Headless Horseman falls for the fake skulls placed all through-out the tunnels. Ahaha, Happy Halloween!
-Abbie and Ichabod trap him, with two heads but the Horseman knows whih is his.
-Abbie fakes a broken ankle, and leads the Horseman to a trap where they have a bunch of fake sunlight pointed at the Horseman
-It seems to be working! The Horseman is trapped! For now?
