In Sleepy Hollow episode 4 we come to realize that Jenny’s life was a lot more complex than we realized, and Ichabod has to play the referee.
Here are the highlights from tonight’s episode:
- We’d give tonight’s Ichabod gets befuddled by the modern technology moment a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. It takes skill to reduce an Onstar operator to tears on a simple door unlock.
- So Jenny is apparently retrieving a mysterious item 37. The real questions is why 37 and what on earth were the other 36? for that matter how high does the list go?
- Cue one, creepy, German piano teacher who seemingly has something against the right hand? “Left hand, Aaron, always the left hand will save you.” Who was on the phone with him, where did he get his briefcase of torture tools, and who is his minion.
- Jenny was quite the world traveller having gone everyplace from New York to Somalia. She has quite the underground network from bar tenders to Trout Lake rendevouzs with the late sheriff.
- Capt. Frank Irving gets kudos for realizing that this beheading wasn’t like the others. He knows more than he is letting on, question is which side is he on.
- Never stand in-between two, angry sisters with fire arms. Not your smartest move Ichabod. You got lucky this time my friend, even if what you called them out on was dead right.
- So the late sheriff was in league with Jenny who was routinely breaking out of her institution.
- Gotta love Abbie’s 5 second recap.
- So the Boston Tea Party that was merely a cover for a clandestine operation including one Samuel Adams, not the beer. One chest was quickly spirited away almost like the arc in Indiana Jones.
- Ichabod having mastered the flashlight, demonstrates the magical projector properties of the sextant. Too bad the didn’t notice the bad guys sneaking up on them.
- So the Hessian’s are not just mercenaries, but the minions of evil. They are everywhere and there are lots of them. Anyone else starting to wonder how modern Germans might feel about being painted this way?
- The Hessian reveals The Lesser Key of Solomon is what the magical sextant is all about. It is what will unlock the forces of evil taking over.
- Off goes our plucky trio to retrieve the key, but of course the Hessians get there first, and lick the fireplace to find the right spot. In this case, X does not mark the spot.
- Hagrid’s Monster Book of Monsters looks downright cuddly compared to this book that drinks blood, launches fire, and then creates a literal blood bath swarming with the dead. Even the Hessians look alarmed.
- Nice thinking Abbie. Ordinarily we’d have a problem with book burning. In this case we’ll make an exception.
- Sisters talk it out. They may not be BFFs, but they at least seem to have cleared the air.
- Talk about facing fear, we now know the demon’s name, Moloch, and what he looks like.
