Tonight is the night we’ve all been waiting for: Sleepy Hollow and Bones will air their two hour cross-over special, where the squints of the Jeffersonian have to team up with the two Witnesses!

Ever since this crossover was announced, we were wondering how in the heck Fox would be able to pull off a stunt like this. Bones and Sleepy Hollow happen in two completely different universes — or so we thought! One is a typical investigation show that has no real foundation in the supernatural, and the other is a total supernatural historical fiction drama.

But somehow, someway, Fox managed to pull this one off. The synopsis for tonight’s cross-over special reads, “It’s Halloween time at The Jeffersonian, as the team gets a surprise visit from newly minted FBI Agent Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane, who have traveled from Sleepy Hollow to claim a headless body already under investigation by Brennan and her team. The new foursome must figure out how to work together to discover who the 200-year-old headless corpse is, and how it is linked to a contemporary murder victim. Meanwhile, Booth and Brennan come up with the ultimate Halloween pranks to play on each other.”

This isn’t the first time Bones has done a cross-over episode: In 2009 the show did a crossover with Family Guy. Yes, you read that right! If you’re wondering how in the heck the network managed to pull this one off it’s because they had it so Booth fell into a coma-like state and had started imagining the characters of Family Guy in his head.

That crossover kind of makes sense since it never really happened. But now that Ichabod and Abbie are actually meeting Booth and Brennan, are we to expect that this show happens in the same universe now? We have no idea!

What is awesome, though, are the stills we have from this crossover. Without revealing too much we can say these stills make us super excited to see how Brennan interacts with Ichabod!

The ‘Bones’/’Sleepy Hollow’ crossover premieres tonight at 8:00 p.m.
