After many delays, Electronic Arts has released SimCity for Mac via Origin.

SimCity fans on Mac have been able to pre-load the game since midnight, but the game became available for play beginning at 1 p.m. eastern on Thursday.

Seven major updates have been added to SimCity since the game launched on Windows earlier this year. The most recent update includes the ability to add bridges, overpasses, and tunnels for better transportation throughout the city. Numerous updates have also included general traffic improvements and bug fixes to ensure stable cities.

Despite fixes, users are still hoping for improvements like the ability to create cities on larger maps. The maps that have been available thus far are easy to fill up quickly.

SimCity for Mac is only available via Digital Download on EA’s Origin service and cannot be purchased in retail stores, and costs $39.99.
