The next batch of SimCity downloadable content is on its way – and it’s an amusement park.

Green Man Gaming released details of the DLC on a product page which was swiftly taken down. The SimCity Amusement Park Pack will cost US players $9.99 when it becomes available on May 28.

The DLC will allow mayors to build customisable amusement parks with many different rides available, including go-kart tracks, roller coasters and Ferris wheels.

Players will be able to choose between three main entrances for their parks, and also customise the layout of footpaths within it. From the limited screenshots we’ve seen so far, it appears that the parks will take up a significant chunk of SimCity‘s notoriously small maps.

It seems that rather than being a separate specialisation option for cities, the amusement parks will be used to increase tourist numbers and, of course, revenue. It remains to be seen where exactly players will be able to fit the amusement parks because even standard city-building is quickly restricted by the map boundaries.

The full product page is available to view in video form over at the YouTube channel HypnotoadProductions.

The SimCity devs responded to the leak over the social networks.

The amusement park DLC will be the largest so far released for the troubled reboot of the classic city simulation series. Previous DLC included Nissan Leaf charging stations and a set of tourist attractions (obtained through buying dental products).

In other Maxis news, the recent announcement of The Sims 4 looks as if it will soon be followed by further details. EA offered up a code for Sims fans to solve. The result (thanks BeyondSims!) points to announcements on May 23, June 18 and July 9, with the first gameplay trailer expected at E3 in mid June.

Will you be picking up the Amusement Park Pack on May 28? Or are you more excited about the coming Sims 4 announcement?
