With only days to go until it released on DVD and Blu-ray, a Silver Linings Playbook deleted scene has been released. This scene is an extended, alternate ending.
After what seemed like a very long wait, Silver Linings Playbook will finally be released on DVD and Blu-ray this Tuesday, April 30. The special features will include deleted scenes, and an extended, alternate ending to the movie will be one of them. Courtesy of MTV, we have the scene in its entirety right now.
The scene takes place at the same point as the scene that made Silver Lining Playbook‘s final cut, but it’s way longer and different. The scene shows more of most of the characters in the Solitano house. In particular, we get an extended look at Ricky, played by writer/director David O. Russell’s son Matthew, Pat Sr. (Robert De Niro), and Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) kick Ricky out of the house for wearing a Vikings t-shirt, but he gets let back in after they reveal that “it was a ‘joke.'” But the shirt has to come off.
The scene is slightly different in tone than the one in the final cut, but it’s nice to see just a little bit more of Jennifer Lawrence’s Oscar winning performance.
The Silver Linings Playbook DVD/Blu-ray combo pack comes with other special features. According to Amazon, the special features are:
