All of your favorite Showtime shows are now available to watch without a cable box.

Three months after the launch of HBO Now, Showtime has launched a standalone streaming package of their own. For $10.99 per month (That’s $4 less than the price of HBO Now!) you can access Showtime’s library of shows including Homeland, Shameless, Masters of Sex, and The Affair.

The service, simply titled “Showtime,” can be accessed via devices like Apple TV, Roku, Playstation, mobile device apps, and (coming soon) the streaming website Hulu. Potential customers can sign up for a free 30-day trial to experience the service before having to pay.

What we really like about Showtime compared to HBO Now is that it lets you watch live with what cable box subscribers are seeing on the traditional Showtime channel. This helps you live-tweet and experience everything at the same moment cable subscribers see it. With HBO Now and HBO Go, if you want to watch “live” you have to keep refreshing the page until you see the new episode appear.

If you’re not watching live, that’s okay. New episodes are posted to the website/app as soon as they begin airing on the east coast.

HBO and Showtime aren’t the only big cablers to offer their programming without a cable box. CBS announced a standalone streaming service earlier this year. Then there are services like Sling TV which offer a bunch of live channels without the cable box.

The problem for cable-cutters is that signing up for all of these different channels adds up financially — and the total price becomes comparable to what you already pay for traditional cable.
