Vanessa Bayer is heading to Showtime for her next project.

According to Variety, Showtime has given the green light to an all new half-hour comedy series titled I Love This For You, which hails from Saturday Night Live vet Vanessa Bayer.

Co-created Bayer herself along with fellow SNL vet Jeremy Beiler, I Love This For You is based on Bayer’s own life— specifically the story of how she overcame childhood leukemia.

The series centers on a woman named Joanna Gold, who is looking to shed her past cancer identity, and dreams of becoming a host on the home shopping channel. After moving away from her parents, Joanna meets and befriends Jackie, who also happens to be the star of the home shopping channel.

In addition to being involved on the back end of things, Vanessa Bayer is also set to star in the forthcoming Showtime comedy as Joanna Gold.

Bayer isn’t the only Saturday Night Live alum who’s signed on for I Love This For You.

Also on board to appear in the half-hour comedy series is fellow SNL vet Molly Shannon, who will play Jackie.

Emmy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Cybill Shepherd was also originally slated to star opposite Bayer and Shannon on the Showtime series as the eccentric billionaire who owns the home shopping channel. Unfortunately, Shepherd has since bowed out of the project, and plans are already in motion to recast her role.

Others set to star include Paul James, Ayden Mayeri, Matt Rogers, and Punam Patel.

Behind the camera, both Vanessa Bayer and Jeremy Beiler serve as executive producers on I Love This For You along with Michael Showalter. Also executive producing is Jessi Klein (who previously worked with Belier on Inside Amy Schumer). Klein will also act as showrunner on the series.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect to see I Love This For You starring Vanessa Bayer and Molly Shannon debut via Showtime.
