Showrunners is a new and exciting documentary project, wherein several writers and producers of popular TV shows like Lost, House, Fringe and more are interviewed, giving viewers a unique look “behind the curtain,” into the world of making television.

Filmmaker Des Doyle has put together this documentary, described as “an in-depth exploration of the making of modern American television”, and it features interviews with many writers, including: Damon Lindelof (Lost), David Shore (House), Jeff Pinkner & J.H. Wyman (Fringe), Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy), and Robert & Michelle King (The Good Wife).

The first trailer for the documentary is now live, and shows some of the interviewed writers (with particular focus on Lost writer Damon Lindelof) talking about writing as a craft, and how key good writing is to a successful television series.

I think Showrunners looks like an incredibly interesting documentary, and is a must-watch for any TV fan who wants to go more in depth with their fandom, and to learn more about the television industry and how a successful television show is put together!
