Finally, finally the first official image from Sherlock series 3 has been released.

Today’s issue of Empire Magazine has the Sherlock series 3 still depicting the detective himself along his friend Watson in front of apartment 221B. Check it out:

The duo are played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Sherlock’s producers Steven Moffat, Mark Gatiss, and Sue Vertue attended San Diego Comic-Con last week to host the show’s first-ever panel at the convention. The trio debuted a brand new clip from series 3, episode 2 which gave us a look at a major, hilarious scene.

Cumberbatch and Freeman could not attend the Comic-Con panel, but both sent video messages for the fans. The former actor’s greeting was particularly funny as he supposedly revealed how Sherlock survived the fall. He demonstrated the revelation using a couple of stuffed animals. Watch it here!

Hypable was at the panel to cover all the big revelations and live blogged every moment. Check out the top 10 things we learned at the Comic-Con Sherlock panel.

Earlier this week we learned the title of series 3, episode 3. Be sure to check out a great analysis by one of our reader’s at the link.

Sherlock series 3 will premiere later this year in the U.K., and in the U.S. in early 2014.
